Sophie has just come back from a language trip to Spain. Her parents are very happy to see her after a month apart. However, when they find out about her budding relationship with Alex, whom she met on the trip, their life becomes much more complicated.

When Sophie's boyfriend Alex comes over for lunch to meet her parents, her dad seems strangely perturbed. He suspects something about Alex that could change the family's life forever.

Jean-Paul's worst fears have been confirmed: Alex is indeed his son. As he can't see a way out of this without telling his family the truth, he tries to convince his daughter Sophie to break up with Alex.

Sophie and Alex have no idea of what is going on behind the scenes. Her father is in turmoil and desperate to break up their relationship before it goes too far. Her mother Solange is shocked by her husband's harsh words against Alex.

Jean-Paul is very upset that his wife Solange let Sophie go to the movies with her boyfriend Alex. He's adamant that they should never see each other again, much to Sophie and Solange's dismay. They don't understand Jean-Paul's aggressive behavior.

Jean-Paul finally comes clean with Alex, but hasn't found the courage to tell his family yet. Instead, he's locked Sophie in her room to stop her from seeing Alex.

When Solange gets home from shopping, she discovers that Jean-Paul has locked Sophie in her room. He owes them some serious explanations, which he finally delivers.
